Indian Job-Seekers Trapped in Myanmar Cyber Crime Hub. 9 Rescued in Gujarat CID operations.

Kerala Police Arrested Rajya Sabha MP’s Assistant in Major Cyber Fraud Case
The Gujarat CID Crime Branch has uncovered a major human trafficking and cybercrime racket linked to Chinese criminal networks targeting Indian youths looking for overseas jobs.
A total of nine Gujarat residents trapped in a fake foreign job racket were rescued and brought back to Delhi. Efforts are underway to repatriate others still stranded abroad.
Police have arrested one person in the case so far.
Officials identified Hitesh Somaiya, a resident of Porbandar, as the key accused who lured victims with fake overseas data entry and IT jobs.
Victims were flown to Thailand, and from there trafficked illegally across the Moei River into Myanmar by Hitesh or his Chinese handlers.
In Myanmar, the victims were confined, exploited, and forced to work for Chinese-run companies involved in online fraud and cybercrime.
To return home, they were told to pay ₹2.5 lakh–₹3 lakh. Those who couldn't pay were threatened, beaten, and forced into cybercrime operations.
The investigation revealed that 10–12 people from Gujarat and four from other states were trafficked in this manner. Out of them, nine victims have been rescued.
The case was handled by the CID Cyber Crime Centre of Excellence, Gandhinagar, under the leadership of SP Rajdeepsinh Zala.
