Kerala Police arrested Rajya Sabha MP’s Assistant in Major Cyber Fraud Case

Rajya Sabha MP's Aide Among Those Arrested Over Cyber Frauds
A 25-year-old man, reportedly the personal assistant of a Rajya Sabha MP from Kerala, has been arrested in a major operation targeting organised cyber financial crimes, police said.
The accused, Hassan Anas, was taken into custody by the Perumbavoor Police after investigation revealed that his bank account had received ₹1,70,000 through layered transactions from the account of a resident of Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.
Police said the suspect was withdrawing money from this “mule account” using cheques and other methods, making him an active participant in an organised cybercrime network.
A mule account is a bank account used by fraudsters to receive, transfer, or launder illicit funds, often without the full knowledge of the account holder.
As part of Operation Cy-Hunt, a statewide crackdown on cyber fraud, Kerala Police last week arrested over 264 individuals and registered more than 383 cases aimed at dismantling organised cybercrime networks and recovering defrauded funds.
